jagan @ Amrutaluru, Tenali - Demands 5000 per acre to farmers

Addressing a huge gathering at Amrutaluru near Tenali in the district today, Jagan said there were at least three cyclones in the state this year that pushed farmers into deep misery.

"The loss on account of the first cyclone in May was estimated to be about Rs 1,000 crore. The government has failed even to assess the loss caused by Jal cyclone in October which had never happened when my late father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister," Jagan said.

He demanded that the state government immediately pay a compensation of Rs 5,000 to each farmer and enhance the input subsidy for taking up alternative crops. He also wanted the government to waive off the debts.
