NTR , YS Jagan and the "real" self respect

This is the essence of Maha Bharatha in the context of leaders and followers, as told in Vidura Neethi. Means, “if you are hurt by somebody’s misbehavior, you should never do the same to others.”

YS Jagan was ill-treated, disrespected and humiliated by High command. Everyone in AP feels he was not given enough respect by Cong. So the whole AP is behind in his fight for self-respect. The same slogan was raised by late NTR. However, he didn’t apply the same principle to leaders behind him. He made them even to fall on his feet. This made N Srinivasulu Reddy to quit TDP and campaign for Cong for whole AP and beat him in 1989 elections. Jagan should ensure that this will not happen. He must not expect the true vote catching leaders to walk with him straightway. They should be given total respect and responsibility of the dist/region/constituency. That principle must be followed even attracting the truly talented leaders which deftly handled by YSR.

After 2009 General elections YSR surprised everybody by announcing that TDP Mahila President is willing to join Cong. Roja, is a rare women leader who call talk very well in media, has appeal in public, can fight on the streets and can win elections on her own. Cong didn’t have such a woman leader. So YSR wanted her to come to Cong. Though she criticized YSR very much, he has gone very far to make her join Cong. She was shocked and overwhelmed by the respect given by YSR. While she was in TDP nobody realized the leadership qualities of Roja, rather ill-treated.

Before 2009 election, never before in Cong history YSR announced candidates for all 294 candidates except 4. One such exception is Dubbaka. Mutyam Reddy , a champion of agriculture and very honest leader. Everybody respects his for his selfless service esp in agriculture. YSR also had great respect for him; TDP didn’t accommodate him in adjustments with TRS. Even after finalizing 290 tickets, he didn’t announce candidature in Dubbaka, waiting for him to join Cong. Later he was given ticket and won.

There are some leaders like Bothsa who has rallied Vijayanagaram into success by closely taking YSR schemes into masses has displayed the similar spirit in his district what YSR has shown in AP.

Jagan, the true spirit of YSR, has 100% respect for people’s leaders and will wait with patience to ensure that he has right army.
